Why the survey?
From your perspective, this survey may help you reflect on your God-given talents and interests and help you relate them to things that need to be done in the church in its mission to “proclaim Christ in word and deed”.
From the council’s perspective, by filling out the survey, we can better match your talents and interests with the needs of our church.
What you will be asked
You will be asked to mark any of the general categories of talents and interest that are shown below – each category has some non-exhaustive examples in brackets.
- Business (banking, investing, bookkeeping, budgeting, etc.)
- Leadership (managing programs, staff, planning, negotiation, teamwork, etc.)
- Problem solving (mathematics, logic, researching, etc.)
- Printed publishing (editorial skills, desktop publishing, graphics design, etc.)
- Websites (website design/maintenance)
- Social media ( Facebook, Instagram, YouTube streaming, etc.)
- Computers (general computer usage, MS Office, Google Workspace, computer networking, etc.)
- Education (teaching Sunday School, teaching Bible class, mentoring students, teaching ESL, etc.)
- Fellowship (assisting with and assisting in event planning)
- Music (singing, playing an instrument, recording music, directing music, sound tech, etc.)
- Social Skills (people skills, working with the young or elderly, conflict resolution, attending to those in need, etc.)
- Trade Skills (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, contract management, maintenance, etc.)
- Visual media (photography, video recording, photo and video editing, etc.)
- Other (any skill sets or interest you have that are not shown in the lists above)
For those of you who already volunteer, we encourage you to fill out the survey as well to identify any additional interests that you might have or talents you wish to apply.

We’ll contact you once we receive your response to talk about how we can match your talents and interests to the things we need volunteers to do at the church. We’ll try to ensure everyone is as happy as they can be with the things they volunteer for. We also want to know if you feel you are already overcommitting your time to volunteering.
